Ritorno a Solzaland

Ph: Maria Zanchi

A selection of photographs of Solza’s town festival found in folders hidden in the municipal library have been transformed into ceramic mosaics scattered around the streets of the historic center.

Each image represents a small window on a magical world, populated by princesses sleeping in the town’s castle, giant kites full of drawings, bubble-blowing challenges, and breathtaking races with wooden carts: these are a few of the games open to children, adults, and the elderly over the years, invented for Solzaland, Trata Burata, Tazzumbazeta, some of the most documented festivals but no longer commonly held.

From year to year, other images of new festivals will be added to reveal to the inhabitants, as well as passing travellers, this parallel and enchanted town of Solzaland, made of a thousand games and inventions to share.
